DARTMOUTH, Mass. (AP) — Massachusetts police say they are seeking a pajamas-wearing man who stole a truck and ran from police.
Dartmouth Police Officer Manuel Demelo was on patrol around 5 a.m. Sunday when he saw a truck run a stop sign. Masslive.com reports Demelo attempted to stop the car, but the driver accelerated away.
Police say the truck crashed while failing to make a turn. Demelo says he saw a white male wearing pajamas fleeing into the nearby woods after exiting the crashed vehicle.
Officers, with the assistance of a K-9 unit, searched the area but could not find the suspect. Police say they later learned the suspect broke into a Dartmouth home and stole the keys to the truck.
Authorities are still searching for the suspect.
