BROCKTON (AP) — State and city police are investigating a fatal shooting in Brockton.
The 27-year-old male victim, whose name wasn't immediately made public, was shot at about 6:30 p.m. Monday and died later at a hospital. The Plymouth district attorney confirmed the death Tuesday morning. No arrests have been announced.
The Enterprise reports that officers responded to the location after getting a 911 call and were also alerted to the city's automated gunfire detection system.
An officer who was in the area found a man down in the street. The victim was taken to a local hospital before being flown to a Boston hospital.
The death was the city's ninth homicide of the year.
