Boston Man Gets Life In Prison For Road Rage Killing

BOSTON (AP) — A Boston man who gunned down another man during what prosecutors called "a stupid traffic dispute" has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance for parole.

Deonarine Ganga was sentenced Wednesday, the day after he was convicted of first-degree murder in the April 2017 road rage shooting death of 21-year-old Joey DeBarros in the city's Dorchester neighborhood.

The Suffolk district attorney's office says the shooting was sparked by a "chance encounter and verbal exchange in traffic," leading Ganga to fire multiple shots from a passenger's seat of the car he was in.

DeBarros was shot as he exited the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant.

Ganga's lawyer said her client is "dedicated to his faith" and is prepared to accept his sentence.
