On Sunday, President Trump announced on Twitter that he would examine the case of Major Mathew Golsteyn. “At the request of many, I will be reviewing the case of a ‘U.S. Military hero,’ Major Matt Golsteyn, who is charged with murder,” Mr. Trump wrote. “He could face the death penalty from our own government after he admitted to killing a Terrorist bomb maker while overseas.” In this now years-old story, Major Golsteyn admitted to killing an alleged Taliban bomb maker back in 2010 and now faces murder charges.
