Portion of Boylston Street Closed After Facade Falls

BOSTON, MA (WBZ-AM) — Boston Police have shut down a section of Boylston Street in the Fenway area between Kilmarnock and Richard Ross Way Friday.  There were no injuries.

The road will remain closed as City officials from Inspectional Services investigate why the piece fell off.

A Piece of facade fell off the side of the building at 13-25 Boylston Street. 

The Developer Samuel and associates in a statement, apologies for the disruption, and says it is cooperating with authorities as they secure the area.

"Samuels & Associates is currently cooperating with city of Boston Police and Fire officials as they secure the area around 1325 Boylston Street subsequent to a piece of the façade separating from the building and falling to the street.  Our first priority is the safety and security of residents, visitors and those passing through the area.  We are working with our structural engineers and construction team to assure that the rest of the façade is secure.  We apologize to the broader community for the disruption and concern this has caused." said Jayda Leder-Luis with Samuel & Associates.
