Safe Injection Sites? In an effort to curb the national opioid epidemic, Mayor Marty Walsh is in Canada to tour a number of supervised drug injection sites. The Facilities allow people to inject illegal drugs under the supervision of medical professionals. Walsh had been a staunch opponent to the safe injection sites but now said he’s interested in learning firsthand how the sites direct more people into addiction treatment.
