METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ-AM) — Currently, 50 police officers have been laid off in Methuen, Mass.
After senior officers received raises under the previous city administration, Methuen Police saw their budget cut by $1.8 million. That money has been moved to the General Fund by the current city council.
“I can tell you I expect another set of layoff notices to go out on Monday,” Methuen Police Chief Joseph Soloman said.
