DURHAM, NH (WBZ NewsRadio) — A golden retriever was plucked from Boston Harbor Sunday by the Boston Fire Technical Rescue squad in a Zodiac inflatable boat. According to her owner, the 12 -year-old pooch named Kai loves the water, even in winter, and could not resist jumping in for a swim in Pleasure Bay off South Boston. The dog got swept from shore and could not get back.
The rescue team says the dog had been in water of about 38 degrees for about 40 minutes by the time she was pulled out 200 yards from shore..
Boston EMS treated Kai, including giving her oxygen before she was sent to a local veterinarian for examination.
