CAMBRIDGE, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Cambridge are asking for the public’s help in identifying suspects involved in two separate apparent were young women say they were approached by strangers.
Police say that on Wednesday night shortly before 5:30 p.m., two pre-teen age sisters were walking home when they were approached by a man they had not seen before near Pleasant and Auburn Streets asking for directions.
Surveillance video released by Cambridge Police on Friday shows the suspect walking the girls down Williams Street grabbing one by the arm. When they get to an alleyway, Police say he asked the girls to go down it they said "no."
The man let go of the arm and the girls ran home.

Police also released a map of the route in hopes that anyone who may have walked by the victims and the suspect during their route will reach out to investigators.

The suspect was described as a black male, approximately 40-50 years old, approximately 5’8”. He reportedly smelled of alcohol and was wearing a black jacket and beanie hat.
Additionally, a mother of a 17-year-old daughter, reported to Cambridge Police that on February 3 an man not known to her daughter had followed her home from Central Square. The same man reportedly attempted to approach her daughter a year ago at her work and while she was walking home from school.
Police say he was described as a white or light-skinned male with a noticeable scar on his head. He is also bald and drives a black motor vehicle.
“The Cambridge Police have added extra patrols and a non-uniformed presence has been deployed to the areas on these incidents and the Department is working closely with the families and school department on each of these incidents,” they said through a news release.
