WORCESTER, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man has been charged in connection with the the death of a Worcester Firefighter.
Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr, said that Momoh Kamara, 21, of West Boylston was arrested and indicted with second-degree murder, arson, and armed burglary charges on Friday.
Christopher Roy, 36, died on December 9. after he was trapped inside a three-story building on Lowell Street. Though he was freed by this fellow firefighters he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Early said that according the Massachusetts Chief Office of the Medical Examiner, Roy's cause of death was smoke inhalation, manner of death was homicide.
Officials say that Kamara deliberately set fire in the basement of the home which he had previously lived in but knew the people who did live there.

Appearing before a Judge in Worcester on Friday Kamara pleaded not guilty to the charges and was ordered to be held without bail.
The Roy had been a Worcester firefighter for two and a half years and was a father to 8-year-old daughter Ava
The Worcester Firefighters Union, IAFF Local 1009 established a fund to benefit Roy’s daughter.
Officials said that checks made out to the Ava Roy Fund can be made at the Worcester Fire Department Credit Union at 34 Glennie St., Worcester, MA 01605.
