Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for January 15, 2020

CNN And Bernie Sanders. CNN moderators appeared to be carrying water in last night's democratic debate for candidate Elizabeth Warren infuriating Bernie Sanders supporters. They claim a clear example of bias when CNN moderator Abby Phillips asked Senator Warren, "what did you think when Sanders said a woman couldn’t win the election?" directly after Senator Sanders denied he ever made such a statement. Phillips also asked Sen. Amy Klobuchar, “What do you say to people who say that a woman can’t win this election?” Is CNN trying to swing the election for Warren?

Pelosi Finally Moves the Articles of Impeachment. The House voted today to send two articles of impeachment against President Trump to the Senate thus moving the impeachment out of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Democratic-run House to the Republican-majority Senate, where the president’s team is mounting a defense aiming for swift acquittal. Whether the charges are dismissed or not, Speaker Pelosi says "an impeachment that will last forever." Is this a political move designed to damage the President before the election?

Banning Facial Recognition Technology. Cambridge, Massachusetts has become the fourth city in the Commonwealth to ban the municipal use of facial recognition technology. A bill before the State House would also establish a statewide moratorium on biometric surveillance until the legislature regulates the software. Proponents of the ban say privacy laws have not yet caught up with the technology and argue state and federal regulations regarding this type of surveillance do not even exist yet. Do you care if facial recognition programs are used in public places?
