Advocates say requiring deposits on bottled water and sports drinks would reduce litter and the amount of plastic that ends up in landfills as well as save cities and towns millions of dollars by reducing the costs of recycling and shifting the disposal cost to the beverage industry.

Punxsutawney Phil Goes Animatronic? PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is calling for Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog to retire and be replaced with an animatronic version ahead of Groundhog Day 2020. The association says keeping the animal all year in a glass habitat is cruel as is dragging the animal out of hibernation to face a barrage of cameras. Would you rather see a robot groundhog as a harbinger of Spring?
