Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for August 31, 2020

Markey vs Kennedy in the Final Leg. It's the battle of the progressives between Rep. Joe Kennedy III and Sen. Ed Markey as to who will win the Democrat primary for the U.S. Senate seat that Markey now holds. Markey has experience (46 years of it in elected office) but what does he have to show for it? Kennedy lacks the years but has an impressive record so far and the ability to negotiate bi-partisan legislation. Joe Kennedy III checks in with Dan. Who are you voting for?

The Trump Bump. The President seems to be closing the numbers gap between himself and his opponent, Democrat nominee former Vice-President Joe Biden. The latest Zogby Poll has President Trump’s approval at 52%. The same report shows a rise in the President's approval among minorities with African Americans at 36%, Hispanics at 37%, and Asians at 35%. Can the President win in November?

Portland, Kenosha and D.C... The mayor of Portland, Oregon, and President Donald Trump are each pointing fingers at the other after a Trump supporter was killed during a rally in Oregon. The President blamed the Mayor for allowing violence to take over his city while Mayor Wheeler says it is the White House that has fed the fires of unrest. The same accusations are happening in other cities plagued by looting and arson such as Kenosha, Wisconsin and Washington D.C. Who is to blame for the violence?
