Louisville on Fire. Yesterday a Kentucky grand jury decided to not bring murder charges against Louisville police for Breonna Taylor’s death after which protesters took to the streets resulting in the shooting of two officers. Both officers are expected to recover. Prosecutors say their investigation showed the police knocked and identified themselves before entering the home and the police fired their weapons, killing Taylor only after they themselves were fired upon by her boyfriend. Was justice done?
No Resolution for RBG. A resolution honoring the life of the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was blocked by Sen. Ted Cruz who objected to language involving the Justice's dying wish that a successor is not chosen until after the presidential inauguration early next year. Cruz instead wanted to include Ginsberg's statements calling packing the Supreme Court partisan and a bad idea. Did Cruz do the right thing?
Lethal Licorice. A 54-year-old Massachusetts construction worker died after eating a bag of licorice. Doctors say glycyrrhizic acid, found in black licorice and in many other foods and dietary supplements containing licorice root extract can cause dangerously low potassium and electrolyte imbalance. Do you like licorice? Will you still eat it?
