Nightside with Dan Rea - Rundown for February 18th, 2021

Vaccine Appointment Chaos. The Massachusetts vaccine appointment finder website crashed at 8am today as 1 million new people became eligible to get their COVID-19 vaccination. A state spokesperson said they are working on the problem and appointments will be available soon. Are you impressed with the Commonwealth's vaccine roll out plan? Have you gotten your shot yet? Massachusetts Rep. Jack Patrick Lewis joins Dan to discuss this issue.

The Teacher Vaccination Conundrum. Everyone's priority is getting the schools back to normal and the teachers' unions say to do that all teachers need to be vaccinated. The Biden Administration disagrees as does White House Chief Medical Advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci, who says vaccinating all teachers before in class learning is just not workable. Should teachers be moved up in the vaccination priority line as the unions suggest or should they wait with everyone else for their turn?

Reparations Hearings. The Congressional Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties held a Zoom meeting this week on the subject of reparations. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee led the charge on H.R. 40, the purpose of which is to establish a commission to study and consider a national apology and proposal for reparations for the institution of slavery. Is this a practical idea?
