The April U.S. jobs report shocked economists when it was reported that the nation’s unemployment ticked up to 6.1% and only 266,000 jobs were added compared to the Dow Jones expectation of 1 million jobs. President Biden said the April jobs numbers reveal that his massive infrastructure and family support bills are needed now more than ever. Biden intends to fund his economic recovery packages by increasing the corporate tax rate, raising taxes on the very rich, closing loopholes and increasing IRS enforcement.
