Another Winter Storm To Bring Boston A Messy Friday Commute

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — With the mighty Blizzard of 2022 hardly in the rearview mirror, forecasters warned of another winter storm on Thursday and Friday. The incoming storm should bring far less snow than last weekend's nor'easter, but could still make commuters' lives difficult.

The storm is expected to bring rain late Thursday night into Friday morning, but that rain will freeze over and become sleet, freezing rain, and eventually snow as a cold front moves in early Friday.

The National Weather Service issued Winter Storm Watches for the entire state west of Boston early Wednesday, including the North Shore and Cape Ann.

Snow totals could reach 6 inches in Western Mass but closer to Boston will likely only be two inches, with totals higher along and north of Route 2.

Ice and flash freezing could also be a problem for commuters, as Accuweather is forecasting about a tenth of an inch of ice to fall with the storm.
