Free Narcan? The town of Peabody is offering free Narcan through its Public Health Department. Narcan is a life-saving drug that reverses an opioid overdose. In addition, an FDA Advisory Committee has endorsed over the counter sales of Narcan. Previously Narcan was only available for use by first responders and medical professionals. Peabody Regional Public Health Coordinator Meg Dlusniewski joins Dan to discuss.
Mail Theft in MA! There has been a string of mail theft from Postal Service mailboxes as of late. Officials in both Weston and Arlington have reported that outgoing mail thefts have been an ongoing problem in the region. Additionally, Mattapoisett Police Chief Jason King told the Boston Globe that “It seems like it’s pretty rampant across the state.” Postal Inspector Danielle Schrage joins Dan to discuss tips on what you can to do to avoid being a victim of mail theft.
Questionable Lab Experiments. PETA has been ringing the alarm over what they say is cruel monkey experiments that have been ongoing at labs across the U.S. including Harvard Medical School. More than 380 doctors, scientists, and academics including Dr. Katherine Roe have joined a request to National Institutes of Health urging it to review and terminate its ongoing funding of cruel experiments on non-human primates. Dr. Roe joins Dan to explain and shed light on the findings.
