BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Before indulging in some turkey on Thanksgiving, high school football teams across the state have to settle the score with their rivals.

There are roughly 100 high school football games kicked off on Thursday morning, with tradition, history and bragging rights up for grabs. Each team played against their biggest rival, hoping to leave their mark on some of the sport's most historic matchups and their rivals across the line of scrimmage.

Here are the results of some of this year’s historic matchups:

Oldest Public School Football Rivalry (1882): Needham High School 20, Wellesley High School 6

Longest Continuous Rivalry (1887): Boston Latin School 40, English High School 30

Malden High School vs. Medford High School (1889): Malden 20, Medford 8

Whitman-Hanson High School vs. Abington High School (1910): Whitman-Hanson 7, Abington 43
