UPDATE 12:01 P.M. : State Police say 4-year-old Cortana Goncalves was found safe in the Western Mass. town of Cheshire. The AMBER Alert is canceled.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — State Police have issued an AMBER Alert for Cortana Goncalves, a 4-year-old girl potentially kidnapped in the Springfield area. Police said the girl was kidnapped by her biological mother, who wasn't her guardian.

The AMBER Alert said the girl's last known location is on Center Street in Chicopee.

Police said the suspect is 32-year-old Brandee Arnold. The girl and her mother may be traveling in a Grey 2010 Honda Accord, license plate number 3SCG24.

Police said the missing child is a white female with brown hair, about three feet tall and weighing about 30 pounds. State Police said the girl was last seen wearing an aqua colored "Hello Kitty" shirt and striped shorts.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 911.
