BEDFORD, N.H. (WBZ NewsRadio) — So, you think your pet is cute. Who doesn't?
But is it cute enough to be featured on pints of beer?
The Animal Rescue League of New Hampshire is running its 3rd annual Paw Prints Beer Label Contest.
ARLNH has partnered with Great North Aleworks to celebrate two of our favorite things.... pets and beer.
Pet owners have until August 4 to submit the cutest picture they have of their pet.
This popular annual fundraiser helps benefit the pets at ARLNH.
Marianne Jones is ARLNH CEO and said they have opened the contest up to all types of pets this year, not just dogs. "We even have a duck," she said. "We have a sheep. We have lots of cats. You name it."
To enter the contest, it's a $10 donation. Each vote costs $1. "They enter their animal, then they forward to their family and friends," Jones explained. "Then people can buy their votes."
The four pets with the most votes win automatically.
In case a tiebreaker is needed, a panel of three ARLNH judges will decide.
Images of the four winning pets will be individually displayed on pint cans of beer.
Images of a current shelter animal or alum will also be featured on cans.
'Paw Prints' is a limited, small batch production of Great North Aleworks with a can release party at Great North Aleworks scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20.
The contest started July 7 and ends Aug. 4.
