BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The St. Louis Blues are Stanley Cup champs for the first time, and the Bruins...well, they're disappointed after last night's 4-1 Game 7 home loss in the Final.

Captain Zdeno Chara, David Krejci, Tuukka Rask, and Charlie McAvoy weighed in.

"We believed it was there for us," Chara said.

"It just hurts, it's gonna hurt for a while," Krejci said. "I've been here before, haven't got over it yet, so I don't know how to get over this one, either."

"Every year you hope that you built something special, and this year, we thought that we had it," Rask said. "We made a great run. Just one game short."

"We're gonna lean on each other and get through this," McAvoy said. "It's tough. We had all the makings of a special group. It felt so special in here, it was really special to be part of something like this, and then to not win, I feel really incomplete."

Ryan O'Reilly scored a goal in the win and earned playoff MVP honors.
