Boston Bruins Make Annual Halloween Visit To Boston Children's Hospital

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Every year around Halloween, members of the Boston Bruins dress up in costume and visit the patients at Boston Children's Hospital. This year, the players chose to dress up as characters from "Toy Story."

Those who attended went room to room, chatted with kids, played games, read stories and even attempted to learn some new dance moves.

The annual trip means a lot to not only the kids, but the players as well.

"This is very easy for us, to come here and spend a few hours of our day and brighten up some of the kid's day and have fun with it" Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron, who was dressed up as Buzz Lightyear, said.

Bruins defenseman Torey Krug, dawning a Mr. Potato Head costume, was excited to recreate the characters with kids at the hospital.

"Toy Story is one of my favorite movies of all-time, it's one of those that all the kids will recognize, the children look up to us, we were all in their shoes one day, it's the least we can do," he said.

Besides Bergeron and Krug, some of the other players who attended were: Danton Heinen (Woody), David Pastrnak (Rex), Brandon Carlo (Hamm), Charlie Coyle (Jesse), and Charlie McAvoy (Alien).
