BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Passengers on a United Airlines flight heading to the Boston Logan International Airport from the San Francisco International Airport was diverted to Denver on Monday evening to address an aircraft problem.

United said that the flight was diverted because of an “issue with the slat on the wing of the aircraft."

United Flight 354 safely touched down in Colorado at 5:21 p.m. local time, and the airline arranged for passengers to take another plane to Boston.

Eventually, the new flight landed in Boston in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The Federal Aviation Administration said that they will investigate the situation with the Boeing 757 aircraft. They explained that the flight crew reported a possible flap issue, which led to the grounding.
