BROCKTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Legacy FC will play its home games out of Boston’s White Stadium, but there is a proposal to bring a practice facility to Brockton, Mass.
The proposal included six different fields, one complete with a bubble dome, on what used to be Remova Park. While showing the plans to the Brockton community on Saturday, Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan said he is excited to have the team come to the city.
“The ownership group has made it clear to me that this is a facility that’s going to be utilized by the youth, youth soccer, the next generation,” said Sullivan. “There might be some Brockton girls' soccer players that might play for Legacy someday.”
Given the size of the proposed facility, Director of Planning and Development Rob May said he is looking forward to being able to host large youth soccer tournaments in Brockton.
“People [would be] coming in from across the country, across the region, spending weekends here with their kids as they play soccer tournaments. It’s very important,” said May. “It’s new money into the economy, it’s creating new jobs, [and] it’s creating revenue for the city.”

Clark, who lives in the area, said he is all for sprucing up the old Remova Park site.
“I think that it’s great that it’s going to be used for soccer now, finally, rather than the strip mine that it used to look like,” said Clark.
However, some residents like Ana are not getting their hopes up just yet, as plans have fallen through for the site in the past.
“I’m a little skeptical because they were supposed to build a sports complex five years ago and nothing happened, so I don’t know how this one’s going to go about,” said Ana.
Boston Legacy FC will debut in the National Women’s Soccer League in 2026.
