BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston’s Youth Job and Resource Fair took place Saturday. More than 200 employers were on hand during the event at the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center in Roxbury.
Boston Mayor Marty Walsh was in attendance at the event.
“First of all, it’s a huge success in that there are thousands of young people here,” Walsh said.
Walsh called the event crucial because it exposes teens and young adults to career paths they may not have previously considered or knew existed. Walsh also said that students are not the only individuals to benefit from the event.
“It’s important for us to get employers to understand that the work force of the future is in this room,” Walsh said.
