BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Boston landmark restaurant has just become even more legendary.

In the latest listing from the World Culinary Awards, Union Oyster House is awarded North America’s Best Landmark Restaurant for 2025. The Union Oyster House has been around since 1826 and is noted as one of the oldest restaurants in the country.

Multiple political and cultural figures have eaten at the restaurant, and it claims to be the oldest continually operating eatery.

Best known for its clam chowder, the bustling eatery outshone other well-known restaurants in Canada and the U.S. Celebrations don’t seem to be slowing down either, as the Union Oyster House will also celebrate its bicentennial event next year.

The World Culinary Awards, based in Italy, held its sixth annual event, recognizing some of the best restaurants worldwide
