Brian Walshe being led into court in 2023.
DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Brian Walshe, the Cohasset man accused of murdering and dismembering his wife, pleaded guilty Tuesday to the two lesser charges against him.
Appearing in Norfolk Superior Court in Dedham, Walshe pleaded guilty to misleading police and disinterring a body. He maintains his innocence on a charge of murder, the most serious charge against him.
Walshe's wife, Ana Walshe, disappeared on New Year's Day in 2023. Her body has never been found.
Authorities said Walshe was caught on a surveillance camera $450 worth of cleaning supplies from Home Depot shortly after his wife's disappearance. Walshe also allegedly made a number of Google searches, including "Dismemberment and the best ways to dispose of a body."
Jury selection, which was already scheduled for Tuesday, began after Walshe changed his pleas for the lesser charges. Opening statements are expected to begin on Dec. 1.
