Here's Alex Cora's 'Advice' To Bruins Coach Bruce Cassidy

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bruins dropped Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final in overtime last night at the Garden. That snapped Boston's eight-game winning streak, and also gave St. Louis its first ever win during a Cup Final after failing in its first 13 chances.

Since 1939, the Game 3 winner of a previously tied series has gone on to win 21 of 27 championships so, yeah, Saturday's important.

But, before that, a look back.

It's been fun to see how Boston's other reigning champs have supported the B's. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick was the banner captain at last night's game, Pats players wore Bruins hats at OTA's last week, and Red Sox players repped Black and Gold prior to last night's loss to the Indians.

Sox skipper Alex Cora said B's coach Bruce Cassidy even checked in with him before the title round.

"He actually gave me a call a few days ago, asking me for advice," Cora said. "I was like, we don't play hockey in Puerto Rico. Keep doing what you're doing, and you'll be fine."

Now Cassidy's in a best-of-five.
