Baker: "Shocked And Surprised And Disappointed,”At Kraft Sex Sting Charges

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Governor Charlie Baker says he is personally “shocked and surprised and disappointed,” that Robert Kraft, owner of the New England Patriots, is facing charges in connection to a sex sting operation in Florida.

Kraft is facing two counts of soliciting prostitution after he was reportedly captured on video engaging in paid sexual acts at a massage parlor and spa in Jupiter, Florida.

Authorities there say that Kraft is one of 25 people being charged in a months-long prostitution and human sex trafficking sting there.

Baker says while the charges are deeply disturbing steps are already being taken in the Commonwealth to crackdown on human trafficking rings like the one involving Kraft.

This includes the creation of a new division within the Massachusetts State Police whose fundamental job is to work with local and state law enforcement in cracking down on illegal activities.

Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey says the allegations against Kraft are deeply "troubling and disturbing." She tells WBZ NewsRadio that she is renewing her call for legistation that would licence and regulate massage therapy parlors state wide.
