Louis Coleman Formally Charged With Kidnapping Resulting In Death

(Delaware State Police)

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — At a press conference in Boston Sunday, Louis Coleman — the suspect in the kidnapping and death of Jassy Correia — was formally charged by federal authorities.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Lelling, at the press conference, described surveillance showing Correia leaving the Venu Nightclub in Boston with a man identified as Coleman.

Lelling said more surveillance footage from Coleman’s apartment building show him carrying shopping bags from Walmart. Coleman bought three Tyvex suits, duct tape, surgical gloves, and bleach bath.

Footage also showed Coleman wheeling a new suitcase into the building on Feb. 27, and then leaving the building with the suitcase the next day and having trouble putting it into his car.

Lelling said that when Coleman was stopped in Delaware, he was asked if he had anyone else with him. He allegedly said, “She is in the trunk.”

Coleman is scheduled to appear in federal court in Delaware Monday, and then will be transferred to Massachusetts at a later date.
