LOWELL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Golden Penny Liquidation had many flocking towards the doors before they even opened Thursday morning.

The Lowell-based store has been gaining popularity for its low prices and extensive selection. The shop is lined with long rows of bins filled with various items, all of which are available at a set price every day of the week.

Many locals, such as Sally, found themselves standing in line an hour before the store opened.

“I’ve only been here once before, and we decided to come back because today is $2 day,” said Sally. “It’s the little things, like shampoos and beauty items, and things like that. Then there’s electronics.”

The store also has more expensive items placed along the wall, which are individually priced.

“TVs and furniture, $70 or whatever it was,” said Sally.

Many shoppers frequent the store for good deals.

“I’m here every Wednesday and Thursday, the bargains!” one returning customer said.

Thursday is the cheapest, with items set at $2. Friday is the most expensive, with items like electronics and houseware at $18 and dropping throughout the week.
