BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health released a statement on Thursday, calling out a post from the Centers for Disease Control website that claims the statement “vaccines do not cause autism” is not evidence-based.

The CDC post adds that studies have failed to rule out a connection between childhood vaccines and autism.

DPH Commissioner Robbie Goldstein fired back at these claims, saying in a statement, “Such claims are factually incorrect and deliberately misleading,” and for an official federal website like the CDC to “include such information is deeply troubling and even dangerous.”

“Vaccines are one of the most effective and life-saving interventions in the history of medicine and public health.”

The DPH has announced that it is reviewing its website and removing any links to CDC content that may be false or misleading.

The CDC change is the latest alteration under President Trump’s Department of Health and Human Services, led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
