BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston Mayor Michelle Wu sounds off on an attack ad from a super PAC that has thrown its support behind challenger Josh Kraft.

The advertisement was paid for by the group Your City, Your Future, which has received donations from figures like Fanatics owner Michael Rubin, New Balance Chair Jim Davis, and Boston Celtics minority owner Rob Hale. The super PAC has already announced it will spend over $2 million on attack ads targeting Wu.

While at a campaign appearance at Boston University on Saturday, WBZ NewsRadio's Mike Macklin asked Mayor Wu about the advertisement, which criticized her support of White Stadium, bike lanes, and more.

"We have the system that we have and unfortunately it works when millions of dollars of attack ads flood into any race. It has an impact," said Wu.

Despite Your City, Your Future declaring its support for her most notable challenger, Kraft disavowed any connection to the super PAC. However, Kraft dismissed the Mayor's criticism of the ad while campaigning on Saturday.

"Boston isn't under attack from a super PAC, Boston and its residents are under attack by Mayor Wu's poor management and poor policy plans," said Kraft.

Wu said she "has no plans" to release an attack ad on Kraft but has called his campaign a "blatant attempt to buy a job with the family and their connections," referring to Kraft's father Robert Kraft.
