BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As Mike Yastrzemski rounded the bases in the fourth on a solo home run for the San Francisco Giants, the Fenway faithful let out a rare supportive cheer for an opposing player.
"I was just excited being able to do that before friends and family," the 29-year-old grandson of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski said. "The crowd reactions all night were incredible. I can't thank them enough for being supportive."
"This feels v[ery] familiar...", the Red Sox joked.
The Sox eventually fell to Yastrzemski and the Giants 7-6 in 15 innings.
