SALEM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The literary classic 'Moby Dick' is featured in a new exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem.

Called "Draw Me Ishmael: The Book Art of Moby Dick," the exhibit's curator is Dan Lipcan.

He said the exhibit features illustrated editions of the book and many different types of contemporary interpretations of Melville's novel. "I'm hoping to trick people into reading a little bit of the novel," he said with a laugh. "I know a lot of folks see the novel as intimidating and possibly boring and we're trying to change that narrative a little bit and make it accessible and enjoyable for people."

The exhibit is now open and runs through January 4, 2026.
