BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Several dozen people gathered outside Boston’s JFK Federal Building on Thursday to protest what they called an illegal bombing of Iran by President Trump.

Multiple individuals equipped with signs and banners stood their ground in front of the federal government building. “Hands Off Iran” chants echoed through Government Center.

Last Saturday, President Trump launched “Operation Midnight Hammer,” where U.S. forces bombed three of Iran’s nuclear sites. The mission is the largest B-2 strike in the history of the United States.

State Senator Jaime Eldridge and Mass. Peace Action Administrative Director Cole Harrison were in attendance to voice their concerns on the bombing.

“There’s nothing between the United States and Iran that can’t be settled by serious negotiations,” Harrison said. “Obama made a deal with Iran. It was holding until Trump cancelled it. United States walked out of that deal, and we should get back into a deal like that.”

Rabbi Greg Hersh attended wearing a kippah and encouraged Jews to follow the mitzvah of 'you shall love and the commandment you shall not fear.'

“And if we meet aggression with aggression and just try to be the strongest person in the region, that’s a recipe for a lot of destruction,” Hersh said.

State Senator Jaime Eldridge expressed his feelings about the attack as well.

“Not in my name to the brutality of the consequences of death and destruction from a military attack, and not in my name to intervening in the domestic affairs of another nation.”
