NORTH ANDOVER, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Dozens of students walked out of North Andover High School to support victims of sexual assault Wednesday.
The walkout was confined to the courtyard of the school which can’t be seen from the street.
North Andover police restricted the entrances and didn’t allow press in.
However, a video from the walk out surfaced online which was obtained by WBZ NewsRadio.
And so did students, escorted by their parents, who are angry two female students and their alleged attacker had to sign safety plans to avoid each other in the school.
“And it causes victim to not go in certain parts of the school, to not be around the person that did something to them” said Ava Gilboard is a senior who walked out “That doesn’t make a victim feel good at heart,” she said.
In a letter to parents the District points out it’s an issue of state law.
Eliezer Tuttle, the alleged attacker, currently held without bail in New Hampshire for sexual assault was accused of misdemeanors and couldn’t be kicked out of school.
The school says that it is reviewing policy.
