BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month — a fitting theme as we prepare to celebrate Easter weekend.
According to data from Cambridge Mobile Telematics, Easter has seen elevated levels of distracted driving every year since 2020. Easter Sunday experiences a 4% increase in distracted driving across the day compared to any other Sunday.
"In the morning, it increases by almost 10 percent. So, between 8 and 12, distracted driving is significantly higher than on other Sundays," says a local analyst.
Experts attribute the notable rise in distracted driving to the social nature of the day.
