BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) -- A person in a wheelchair riding through the Prudential Tunnel caught the attention of commuters this morning.
The video shows a man on the westbound side of Route 90, pushing himself along in the right lane near the Clarendon Street on-ramp. A truck can be seen pulling over, apparently to block the man from traffic.
Walon Mills, a tow-truck driver for AAA of New England, was on his way to a service call in Allston when he noticed traffic was stalled. He spotted the man in the wheelchair and he jumped in to action.
"As I got closer about two car lengths...I saw a head and I'm like this is odd," he said.
Mills followed the man all the way inside the tunnel and called dispatchers to call State Police. He turned on his lights on his truck to prevent other drivers from hitting the man in the wheelchair.
Massachusetts State Police say the 56-year-old from Boston was transported to Tufts Medical Center for evaluation, WBZ reports. He does not appear to be injured.
