Police Seeking Help To Identify Suspect In $12,000 ATM Scam In East Boston

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police are looking for a suspect in relation to a theft in East Boston.

Officials say the unidentified woman was involved in a theft on June 22 near 11 Porter St.

Around 11:30 that morning, the suspect allegedly scammed a person into believing there was an error on the ATM machine after she had used it.

Then the suspect stole the victim's ATM card and withdrew $12,000.

Police published a photo of the suspect on Tuesday, asking the public for help in identifying the individual.

Boston Police are actively investigating the incident, and they ask that anyone with information to contact District A-7 Detectives at (617) 343-4234.
