BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lisa Cassidy is thriving in the upcycled accessories space with her company, Kaden and Kai.
"Kaden and Kai is a sustainable fashion brand that I've created. I started with bicycle tubes."
Launched in 2020, the company was built with the mission to create beautiful pieces from materials that would normally be discarded.
"When I first did this and I had the time during COVID, I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to do this," said Cassidy.
As a former consultant in the green sector, Cassidy says she was often in the market for environmentally conscious pieces to add to her collection before she launched her company.
"I actually designed this originally because I wanted something for myself and I thought I saw something that was made out of a bicycle tube."
Made from donations from local bike shops in Massachusetts and Verdasil, a FDA-approved, premium silicone, Kaden and Kai is Eco-friendly, vegan-friendly and hypoallergenic. Cassidy prides her collection for being the cleanest and greenest. Her products never release toxins, shed microplastics or degrade.
Now with four categories including bracelets, necklaces, earrings and chokers, the company has expanded since the creation of Daisy Bicycle Tube Bracelet that Cassidy started the with.
