FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Savannah Bananas will be playing at Gillette Stadium for the very first time in the summer of 2026, the team announced. Banana Ball will debut on August 28 and 19, 2026 as part of their 2026 World Tour. The Bananas have sold out Fenway Park three times in the last two years, thus the need for an increase in seating capacity. The Bananas will be playing against a brand-new team, the Loco Beach Coconuts, that weekend.

“I think it’s awesome, more for the tourists to do around here, it’s great to see it happen,” one local said.

Banana Ball, although similar to baseball, is not quite the same. Outfielders catching fly balls while doing a backflip, batters on stilts, and fans making outs are some of the unique rules that bring large crowds to see the Savannah Bananas across the country.

“It gets more young kids involved with it. Years ago, there were all kids playing, but now you don’t see many kids’ playing baseball like they used to,” one baseball fan said.

Fans of all ages are expected to pack the stadium to see the Bananas' unique uniforms and choreographed dances.

“I have an 8-year-old son that would love to go. He definitely watches clips of it on social media,” a local mother said.

Fans looking to attend can enter the Banana Ball ticket lottery through Oct. 31, 2025 HERE.
