WATCH: Shark Jumps At Fishing Boat in Orleans

ORLEANS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Amid an increase in shark sightings in Cape Cod, recent footage captured a shark jumping out of the water at a fishing boat.

A family that was fishing off Rock Harbor in Orleans caught a fish and was reeling it in when a Great White shark leaped out of the water to grab it, according to the Associated Press.

The footage was taken by Doug Nelson, of Franklin, who was aboard the boat.

Officials have reported a spike in the shark sightings in recent weeks, which appears to be because of a growing gray seal population.
