BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Delays and cancellations are slowly piling up at Boston Logan Airport on what the Federal Aviation Administration says will be the busiest day of the holiday travel season.
Between the stormy weather and flight changes, travelers are encouraged to give themselves plenty of time to get to the airport, especially for international travelers like Pierre, who says he stayed at the airport overnight in order to make sure he made his flight back home to France.
"So I was spending the night here in transit because I was taking American Airlines here yesterday," he said.
He's got a long journey ahead of him this weekend, so he can be home across the pond for the holidays.
"All my family is back in Guadeloupe, so yeah, I was just waiting to join them in Guadeloupe, and I'm going to celebrate this weekend," he said.

While the rain and wind are expected to wreak havoc on Friday, travelers should check in with their airlines about departures and cancellations, even if their flight keeps them stateside. Travelers like Meredith are hoping to make it back home in time for Christmas.
"I'm going to Tallahassee to visit my son and my daughter-in-law," she said. "I had Thanksgiving with my mom and my whole family. It was wonderful."
Nicole, who just arrived in Boston, said the weather almost disrupted her flight plans.
"Actually, there was a lot of wind, like when they descended."
