Quincy Opposes New Bridge to Long Island

A bridge dispute is brewing between the cities of Boston and Quincy.

You can't get to Long Island a part of Boston without going through that section of Quincy.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has expressed his desire to have the city rebuild the bridge since The old bridge was closed in 2014 for public safety reasons and taken down in 2015, closing off access to what was then the largest homeless shelter in the city.

However, it's tough to do that if you cannot get construction vehicles in there.

There have been alternative proposals to have a ferry service to the island but became unfeasible.

WBZ NewsRadio1030's Carl Stevens reports.
