The David Ortiz Shooting: What We Know So Far

Here's everything we know so far about the shooting and current condition of former Red Sox slugger and baseball legend David Ortiz.

Reports from the Caribbean island indicate one of those under arrest is the suspected gunman.

Over the last two days authorities have kept the main suspect, Eddy Vladimir Féliz García in custody. Prosecutors are asked a judge on Tuesday to allow them to continue holding García for a full year on a charge of being an accomplice on attempted murder charge.

Another suspect is also in custody following Sunday night’s shooting of the now retired legendary Red Sox slugger.

Meantime Ortiz is back in Boston where he is "stable, awake, and resting comfortably" at Massachusetts General Hospital's Intensive Care Unit according to his wife Tiffany Ortiz.

Ortiz was shot in the back while at a bar in his native Dominican Republic Sunday. Doctors in that country had to remove Ortiz's gallbladder and part of his intestine before he was transported by air ambulance to Boston where he underwent a second surgery.
