BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Boston City Councilors met with some of the city's largest venues to talk about recycling efforts on Monday morning.

Councilors hosted venue representatives at Boston City Hall to share ideas and potential solutions to maximize the city's recycling efforts. Representatives from Fenway, TD Garden, Boston College, and Boston Convention and Exhibition Center discussed their current recycling processes and potential recycling solutions.

"We want our big Boston venues sharing information that's one of the things that's one of the things that was really good today," City Councilor Kenzie Bok said. "About how they can redesign their processes so they're trying to figure out how do they set up systems that can solve it on the back end [and] make sure that they're not sending anything to the trash."

At the meeting, councilors and guests discussed the venue's waste diversion services that keep trash and recycling separate. Ideas were exchanged on how to recover recyclables that end up in the trash.

"Our venues are some of our biggest commercial enterprises in the city so we really need them to lead by example and get this right because frankly we need every business in Boston to be doing its part," said Councilor Bok.
