BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Gas prices are going down in New England.

On Monday, the average price of gas in Massachusetts was down five centers from last week at about $3.64 per gallon. That price is 13 centers lower than it was a month ago.

This trend seems to be the same throughout New England.

In Rhode Island, the average gas price was $3.57 on Monday, which is down from last week and 21 cents lower than it was a month ago. In New Hampshire, the average price of regular gas was $3.55, down 16 cents from a month ago. In Maine, the average gas price was $3.65, down 18 cents from a month ago, and in Connecticut, the average gas price was $3.67, also down 18 cents.

AAA Spokesperson Mark Schieldrop said he was unsure how prices would be affected by the war in Israel, but so far they have been going down.

“Domestic gasoline prices have continued their daily decline despite uncertainty and volatility gripping oil markets last week after the outbreak of war in Israel and fresh sanctions against Russia for selling oil for more than $60 a barrel in violation of earlier price caps imposed by G7 nations in response to last year’s invasion of Ukraine,” said Schieldrop. “Meanwhile, domestic oil production reached an all-time high last week and demand remains tepid, which suggest further price drops at the pump in the weeks ahead.”

Monday's national average was $3.60 per gallon, which is down 10 cents from last week and down 27 cents from a month ago.
