NANTUCKET, Mass. (WBZNewsRadio) — A vehicle has made it back on land after taking a dip off Nantucket.

At around 2 a.m. on Sunday, a car went into the water at Children's Beach boat ramp completely submerging itself, the Nantucket Current reported.

The Nissan Rogue, with Florida plates, spent hours in the water before it was fished out on Sunday afternoon.

The Children's Beach boat ramp gate was closed on Sunday morning as officials waited to get a diver to help get the Nissan out of the water.

First responders told the Current that the driver was not injured in the incident.

At around noon, people flocked to the boat ramp to watch as the vehicle was towed out of the water.

The Nantucket Police Department, Nantucket Fire Department, State Police, and the Nantucket Harbormaster all responded to the scene.
